George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four holds significant importance today partly because it remains relevant to contemporary society and warns the societies against totalitarianism. On other hand, Thomas Hobbes a contrary view in terms of political system he defends, shaped by circumstances his country was in. The present study aims examine portrayal totalitarianism dystopian masterpiece, explore what contrarily argues about necessity powerful authority establishment continuity harmonious society. writings Orwell Hobbes, implications novel carries for fundamental questions personal freedom, autonomy, stifling individuality will be analyzed addressing concept that is related arguments proposed Leviathan.
